Repco Hotfoot
While researching information for my '85 Team Hotfoot and up-coming '82 Team Hotfoot build, I got so sick of finding information then losing it again that I started copying images of bikes, parts and advertising material into a single place. To assist others, I have reproduced this information over the following pages .. most of the information can be found on OzBMX and BMXMuseum and I am not pretending that this informtion will replace either of these valuable resources.
Please browse through all of the material I have collected:
If you have any Hotfoot information or photos, please forward them to me and I will add them to the site. I am especially interested in brochures and advertisements as these are most valuable when restoring bikes back to their original glory.
Stubby Holders
On the eve of placing a second order for stubby holders, I thought I might put a couple of pictures I have collected together showing how the stubby holders are being used and the exciting places they have been by those lucky enough to have one.
Series One
Series One of the stubby holders was commissioned in March 2017 and consisted of two designs. Production was limited to 30 of each design as I tested the water (or beer?) on how many I could sell. My wife thought I was crazy and she feared we would be caught with most of them .. well to her surprise these quickly sold out and I wished I had ordered more.
The designs below feature an X-Gusset and an '85 Team:
Series One: Out and About
The Hotfoot Stubby holder is not some show pony and is designed to be ridden. The following pics show them in action before, during and after the event.
Series Two
Series Two of the stubby holders is a work in progress but it is likely that I will reprint some of the images from Series One to cover the shortfall from this batch.

Series Two: Out and About
Again, the Hotfoot Stubby holder is not some show pony and is designed to be ridden. The following pics show them in action before, during and after the event.
Series Two included a Repco emblem taken from the cover of the '84 / '85 catalogue. I intentionally did this knowing that some of the boys from the Repco Appreciation Society might be interested. Greg is showing his in front of his '87 Repco Vortex. |
Mick was an early adopter and bought a couple of Series One stubby holders but had to have a Freestyle stubby holder to complement his current '85 Freestyle build. This pic shows the stubby holder in action in front of his NOS black Redstone mags - destined for his custom '85 build. |

What better way to get motivated when building your next Hotfoot but to crack open a drink and start assembling the parts? Ashley contemplates both packages that arrived in the mail today - new stubby holders and an SR stem. |
Just being on the road doesn't mean you cannot be a little artistic in your pictures as Mick proves in this interesting picture of two stubby holders in the countryside. |
|
Galaga and beer .. is there a better old-school combination? This picture was taken just as the Boss Galaga has started its tractor beam which any player would know allows you to get potentially double up your firepower! |
Another nice picture from Mick .. the crate in the background looks like it say 'Nightingale' and 'Wollongong'. Is it a winery? |
|
Anything '80s goes with old school BMX .. what can be more '80s than an old tape deck and some classic tapes. Check out the Rodney Rude tape front and centre! |
Like Greg above, Jason loves Repco road bikes from the late '80s and early '90s. The bulk of the stubby holders with the Repco logo went to members of the Repco Appreciation Society including Greg, Jason and Shannon. |
|
Mick's stubby holders are enjoying their trip across .. mmm .. where actually are they? It doesn't matter, its sunny and there is beer. |
Chad's cool Fiat 126 looks tough with its front and rear bumpers made from pipe and Arbath inspired stripes. My biggest concenr about these cars are simply where can you put a slab of beer or - for that matter a Hotfoot - in them? |
|
Shannon's stubby holders took a trip via his neighbour's house due to some shoddy labelling by your's truly. After describing them as 'shady fkrs' Shannon had to eat his words when they returned the stubby holders to him. |
Mmmm .. lamb. Reminds me of a line from the Big Fat Greek Wedding when the bride's mother proclaims after hearing of the groom's vegetarianism, "He don't eat no meat? Okay, I make Lamb." |
|
Anthony's pictures show a Repco emblem stubby holder at what looks like a farm in the dry Victorian country-side. This picture shows a spotless stubby holder on the top of a Honda trail bike .. |
.. whereas this second picture shows the same stubby holder, now in 'rider condition' with a few marks and stain on it beside a camp fire. |
|
Anthony's pictures extend beyond the old campfire pics as this image of He-Man shows. |
After me mistakenly thinking than Shan was calling me a rock spider, I understood that he was refereing to this '85 Team Spider. The conversation was best ended there .. |
Famous People
A few famous people have bought these stubby holders and they are not too proud to be seen in public with them.
