BMX Bikes

My Collection

Modest compared to some collections I have seen, the bikes in my collection are not the rarest bikes going around but I have tried to restore them to original - or at least era-correct - specifications. You are unlikely to find a Nomura, a CW Phaze-1 or an SE DB-IV in the near future as I simply cannot afford these gems.

The bikes appear in the order I have restored them. As you can see, I started with a couple of classics from the biggest BMX manufacturers of the time but have since moved on to some Australian classics.

What's next?

Dunno .. I have a complete set of blue Shimano, Tagaki Tourney and Suntour accessories and are looking for a project to use them on. Maybe a Malvern Star CrMo?

Of course, if I had the time, money and spousal approval I would like to add a couple of bikes to complete the collection. Classics like a PK Ripper, an SE Quadangle and an ET Kuwahara would be cherished but there are some other interesting bikes I like that are less known / common but ultimately more affordable. For example, a Tange Hot Heart .. this frame is exceptionally built by Tange and is very similar in design and quality to the Kuwahara frame that Tange was making at the time. Anyone got one for sale?

Vintage Mongoose  Anyone who is interested in Mongooses (Mongeese?) has probably already found this site. When I was restoring my Motomag, I found this site invaluable for information and reproductions decals and grips. Warren, who is behind this site, is a local who is passionate - no obsessive - about the Mongoose brand and it shows.
